Addiction Therapy Programs near Indianapolis, Indiana

What is an Addiction Therapy Program?

At Ladoga Recovery Center, our addiction therapy programs provide compassionate and comprehensive evidence-based treatment tailored specifically for individuals struggling with substance abuse. These programs aim to address the physical, emotional, and psychological aspects of addiction, helping individuals build the skills needed for lasting recovery. Some tried and true modalities of therapy can be used in combination with another to ensure that each individual is receiving the most effective treatment for long lasting sobriety and recovery.

Understanding Addiction Therapy

Addiction is not a matter of willpower or moral failing. It is a chronic disease that changes how the brain functions, making it nearly impossible for individuals to quit on their own. People struggling with addiction often experience shame and guilt, which can prevent them from seeking help. At Ladoga, we emphasize that recovery is possible and that asking for help is a courageous first step. In many cases, addiction coexists with underlying mental health disorders like depression, anxiety, or trauma. These co-occurring conditions can fuel substance abuse as individuals use drugs or alcohol to self-medicate. Our dual diagnosis approach addresses both addiction and mental health issues simultaneously, helping individuals heal fully.

What Therapy Services Do We Provide?

At Ladoga Recovery Center, we believe that therapy is at the core of someone’s recovery from addiction. While detox treatment is vital in treating the symptoms of withdrawal, therapy is used to address the underlying causes of the addiction itself. By introducing different modalities of therapy, we can uncover the root cause of one’s addiction and develop healthy therapeutic practices such as cognitive-behavior therapy (CBT) and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT). The use of such therapies while in treatment strengthens one’s determination to sustain long-term sobriety. By actively practicing techniques we learn through therapies such as  relapse prevention therapy, we are able to implement them in our everyday lives to encourage and reframe our mindset as we indulge in healthier outlets.

Therapy Services We Specialize In

At Ladoga Recovery Center, we offer a wide range of therapeutic approaches designed to address the unique needs of individuals struggling with addiction. Each therapy targets specific areas of recovery, helping individuals overcome the physical, emotional, and psychological challenges of substance abuse.

  • Individual Therapy:In one-on-one sessions, patients explore the personal challenges and root causes of their addiction with a licensed therapist. This personalized approach ensures a safe space for emotional healing and tailored recovery planning.
  • Group Therapy: Group therapy provides a supportive environment where patients can share their experiences with peers. This creates a sense of community, reduces feelings of isolation, and allows individuals to learn from others on a similar recovery path.
  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT): ACT helps individuals accept difficult emotions while focusing on mindful, value-based actions. It encourages managing cravings and triggers through cognitive defusion and present-moment awareness, promoting long-term sobriety and commitment to positive change.
  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): CBT helps individuals identify and change negative thought patterns and behaviors that fuel substance use. By learning healthier coping strategies, individuals are better equipped to manage cravings and avoid relapse.
  • Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT): DBT focuses on emotional regulation, mindfulness, and distress tolerance. It is particularly effective for individuals with co-occurring mental health issues, teaching them how to handle intense emotions without turning to substances.
  • Family Therapy: Addiction often affects the entire family, and family therapy aims to repair strained relationships. These sessions help improve communication and foster a better understanding of addiction, providing families with the tools to support their loved ones in recovery.
  • Relapse Prevention Therapy: Relapse prevention focuses on developing strategies to manage stress and avoid triggers. By working with therapists, patients create personalized plans that help them stay committed to sobriety and reduce the risk of relapse.
  • Holistic Therapy: Holistic approaches like mindfulness, yoga, and meditation are integrated into treatment to promote emotional healing and stress reduction. These therapies encourage self-awareness and overall well-being, complementing the more structured therapies.
  • Dual Diagnosis Treatment: For those dealing with both addiction and mental health disorders, dual diagnosis treatment provides an integrated approach. By addressing both issues simultaneously, individuals receive comprehensive care that supports their full recovery.

At Ladoga Recovery Center, we are committed to providing compassionate, effective therapy services for all. We support individuals at every stage of their recovery journey– regardless of one’s socioeconomic status.
